About Sea & Sky Doula

Hola! I am  Joselyn but I go by Yose. I am a home birth mama of two beautiful children. Before I became a mother I was afraid of childbirth for as long as I can remember, mainly due to the frightening media depictions and horror stories I heard from others and the women in my family.

However, once I met my partner, I knew I was ready  to have children. After a year of trying, I finally got pregnant and was determined to have a peaceful birth experience.

I extensively researched and prepared myself physically, emotionally,and spiritually for an empowering birth, but I neglected to plan for the postpartum period and felt unsupported. My own experience led me to complete an extensive 112-hour training with Bebo Mia Inc. to become a full spectrum doula.

My training inspired me to explore Mexican indigenous birth and postpartum traditions, honoring my ancestors, and expanding my knowledge.
